Description: A family living in the university city of Erlangen near Nuremberg, Germany. They are looking for a Finnish-speaking nanny to support their first child’s language development. The baby will be 5 months old in August when the job starts. You will speak Finnish with the child, English with the parents, and it would be ideal if you speak some German or are willing to learn it.
Your duties, in addition to basic care, are taking the child outdoors, eventually driving the child to activities when they are old enough, tidying up after the child and yourself, keeping the child’s belongings tidy and organised, and occasionally travelling with the family domestically and internationally for holidays. A full-time housekeeper is employed.
The working hours are mainly Mon–Fri from 9 am to 5 pm. Some flexibility is needed, as occasional evening/overnight care or travel with the family is required. Any overtime is naturally paid extra according to employment law.
The family will rent a private studio flat nearby for you. By law, this is a taxable benefit that will increase the gross salary. You will also be provided with a nanny car for work as well as flights to and from Germany.
You can apply for this job if you
- Have a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience with babies under the age of 12 months, with a minimum of 2 checkable references, and good knowledge of developmental milestones of babies and toddlers
- Speak fluent Finnish and have the knowledge to support the language development of a multilingual child
- Understand the importance of routines for a young child, and work in cooperation with the parents to coordinate the routine and activities for the child

- Have a driving licence
- Have a clear criminal records extract
- Are not allergic to dogs and are comfortable working in a household with a large dog
