Citizenship in an EU/EEA country or Switzerland, OR you already have the appropriate visa to work as an Au Pair when a visa is required
Minimum age 18 years; maximum age 31 years (depending on the country)
You must speak either the host country’s language or English at a basic level, so that you can have everyday discussions with the children, parents, and outside of the home in work or social situations
Some childcare experience, such as babysitting in private families or being a club leader or camp counsellor with children, with written references to prove your experience
No qualification is necessary, although showing interest in the field by taking a childcare course, for example, is highly recommended
First aid and CPR course is not required, but highly recommended
Commitment to work for 6-12 months (most families request 11-12 months)
